Jaigarh Fort - Field work by CHC, CRDF along with CyArK team

From October 14 to 18, CHC-CRDF and CyArk, with support from JPCT, carried out fieldwork at Jaigarh Fort as part of CyArk's Heritage Amplified Grant. This work focused on key aspects of Jaigarh Fort's water management and distribution system, along with oral narratives exploring its formation, historical use, and present-day significance. Using LiDAR scanning and terrestrial and aerial photogrammetry, the team documented water collection channels, storage tanks, and related components. This process was guided by sessions with field experts from CyArk.

A series of expert interviews were conducted on-site to explore the nuances of the water system and bring its stories to life. The project seeks to engage broader audiences with a narrative cantered on water, showcasing the sites meticulously engineered, self-sustaining system.

This initiative is supported by Iron Mountain and the Jaigarh Public Charitable Trust (JPCT), and is part of a wider collaboration between JPCT and CHC to conserve the Jaigarh Fort Precinct.
