Kalidas Jethabhai House & Mukhi Delu - Young Heritage Explorers' Programme 2.0
The Young Heritage Explorers Program (YHEP), designed and conceptualised by Prof. Gauri Bharat at CHC, aims to introduce young people to heritage sites and educate them about the significance of history and conservation in our contemporary lives. As part of this program, school students of Tri Gi Mishra Shala and VN High School at Shri M.D. Sarvajanik Pustkalay (a public library in Dharmaj) were invited to take part in activities designed for young students with the aim of spreading awareness on the urgent need for conservation of heritage in our fast changing world. The Young Heritage Explorers Program was organised with the support of Dharmaj Kelavani Mandal and funded by the heirs of Kalidas Jethabhai Patel.Â
This event for young students was organised at Kalidas Jethabhai House after the completion of the front wing’s safeguarding, careful dismantling of the back wing, and the stacking of recovered timber in the material shed constructed on-site. The CHC team introduced and briefed students on the background, significance and the different stages of conservation carried out at site.
